The outcome, in numbers

The problem
Godrej's salon training programme reached as many stylists as could attend in person, in a limited number of cities, in a limited number of languages — primarily Hindi and English. The audience they wanted to reach was huge, multilingual, and often only had a phone.
What we built
Salon-i is an Android-first learning app built on Brainmint. Every lesson is a sub-three-minute video, paired with a short scenario quiz and a tactile gamified flow that rewards streaks, accuracy, and trying advanced techniques.
The big bet was language. Every module ships in Hindi plus six regional languages from launch. The translation and dubbing pipeline became its own product: we built a tooling layer so the content team could see translation status, dub status, and learner dropout per language on a single dashboard.
How it landed
Phase 1 onboarded over 30,000 stylists across geographies the in-person programme had never reached. Median module completion ran at 4.2 per active learner per week — higher than the in-person cohort had ever managed. Crucially, the language data showed equal engagement across all seven languages, which validated the upfront translation investment.
The second-order learning was about content cadence. Once stylists were engaged, they wanted more content faster. Salon-i shifted Godrej's L&D team from a quarterly publishing rhythm to a fortnightly one.
“Salon-i let us reach stylists we'd never have been able to train in person. And the language work paid for itself in the first two months.”
